  • 1. Transfer Students from another University

    A student from another university may be accepted for enrollment as a regular student at the Islamic University in Madinah subject to the following conditions:

    • The student should have studied at a recognized university.
    • The student must not have been dismissed from that university for disciplinary reasons.
    • The student must satisfy the transfer conditions, as determined by the University Council.
    • The transfer can be done in the normal two semesters (excepting the Summer Semester)
    • The students must be Saudi citizen (or his mother should be Saudi citizen)
    • The students must attend at least two semesters and not more than four semesters in his previous university.
    • The Faculty Council evaluates the courses that were taken by the student outside the University, based on the recommendations of the departments that offer equivalent courses.
    • The courses evaluated as equivalent are recorded in the student’s academic transcript but are not included in the calculation of his cumulative GPA.
    • If it becomes evident, after a student’s transfer, that the student was dismissed for disciplinary reasons, his enrollment is considered cancelled from the date of acceptance of his transfer to the University.
  • 2. Faculty transfer

    A student may transfer from another Faculty to the Faculty of Engineering within the Islamic University in Madinah subject to the following conditions:

    • Transfer following a very competitive selection based on their cumulative GPA.
    • The students must attend at least two semesters and not more than four semesters in his previous faculty.
    • All courses that have been studied by a student in the previous faculty are recorded in his academic record, including the semester grades and cumulative GPA.
  • 3. Department transfer

    A student may transfer from one major to another within the Faculty of Engineering subject to the following conditions:

    • The students must attend at least two semesters and not more than four semesters in his previous major.
    • All courses that have been studied by a student in the previous major are recorded in his academic record, including the semester grades and cumulative GPA.
  • 4. Visiting student

    Student who studies courses in another university without transferring is considered a visiting student. These courses taken at the other university are considered equivalent to those offered at the Islamic University, subject to the following conditions:

    • The students must attend at least two semesters in the Islamic University.
    • The student must obtain the approval of his Faculty prior to taking courses at the other university.
    • His studies should be at a recognized faculty or university.
    • The course the student takes outside the Islamic University should be equivalent, in terms of content and credit hours to a course required for graduation at the Islamic University.
    • The University Council determines the maximum credit hours allowed for student taking courses outside the University.
    • The course grades credited to the visiting student will be recorded in his academic record, but not included in the calculation of his cumulative GPA.
    • Any other conditions required by the University Council should be satisfied.
